A hospice may have only one office that serves you. Ours is the San Bernardino address above. We do not operate branches.
What we are, and what we are not
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Type of provider | Hospice agency. Care is provided where the person lives. We do not operate an inpatient hospice facility. |
| Services | Hospice care, including all four Medicare levels of care, and palliative care. See hospice care and palliative care. |
| Payers | Medicare and Medi-Cal, including Medi-Cal managed care plans where we are contracted. See paying for care. |
| Counties served | San Bernardino, Riverside, Los Angeles and Orange counties. Ventura County by individual check. See service area. |
| Languages on the team | English, Spanish, Russian, Armenian, and other languages through interpreters. See language assistance. |
| Ownership | A privately held California corporation, for profit. |
| Separate program | Beta is also listed by the California Department of Health Care Services as a Care Coordination Agency for the Assisted Living Waiver, under the name Beta Hospice Care, at the same office. That program has its own team and website, alwbeta.com (opens in a new tab). See hospice and the Assisted Living Waiver. |
A note on a similar name
California has licensed hospices with names that resemble ours. They are different companies at different addresses. When you check a record, match the legal name, the CCN and the San Bernardino address together, not the name alone. How to verify a hospice walks through each lookup with Beta as the example.
If a record looks wrong
Government records are updated on their own schedules, and a change can take months to appear on Care Compare. If you see an address, phone number or name on a public record or a directory that does not match this page, call our office and tell us. We will tell you which one is current and what we have done to correct the record.
Questions about our identifiers
What is a CCN?
A CMS Certification Number is the provider number Medicare assigns when it certifies a hospice. Ours is A11527. It appears on Care Compare and on Medicare paperwork.
Is Beta Hospice the same as Beta Hospice Care, Inc.?
Yes. Beta Hospice is the name we use in public. Beta Hospice Care, Inc. is the legal name on our license, our Medicare certification and our NPI.
Does Beta Hospice have more than one location?
No. One office, in San Bernardino. A hospice that serves you must be able to reach you from a real office, and ours is the address on this page.
