We rely on our volunteers to help cheer our patients up and bring happiness and joy to them and their families. Depending on the condition of the patient, the tasks our volunteer will be expected to do may defer.

From spending time at the bedside, reading to them, playing games or taking them for a walk, the tasks are endless. In addition, they may help family members or caregivers with certain chores or errands to help them get regular breaks to relax to attend to matters outside of the home. If our volunteer has a vehicle that they woud like to use to help the family or the patient move about, that is another way he or she may contribute.

In addition, our volunteers also help us provide bereavment services to the families after the loss of a dear one or in the duration of the care. This may include home visits or telephonic services as per their choice and availability.

However, not all of our volunteers are on the field or with the patients and their families. Some of them may opt to help out at the office instead with administrative matters. For health professionals, our volunteering program also helps them gain first-hand experience in the field.

Most importantly, the experienced and expert team of Beta Hospice will give you all the training and perparation you need to help patients and families and their families.
